The Psychedelic Breakfast - In Uncle Sam's Basement Emporium PDF Print E-mail
Written by Ian Todd

ImageMmm, psychedelic breakfast. Surely that's what Noel Gallagher meant about putting "sugar" on his cornflakes? Or is it a fried breakfast with extra magic mushrooms? 'The Breakfast' are an established northern five-piece stuck together with rock 'n' roll glue, and can usually be found gigging between all four corners of the North East. For anyone who has failed to see them live, after flagellation this should be top of your ‘Things To Do Before I Die' list. For this is a live album and a studio album. It was recorded in one take - ten songs, one after another (how rock 'n' roll is that?). Presumably this was so they could all go to the pub and drink vast quantities of loony juice - or they just wanted something different that would set the music world alight with awe and jealousy. From the first track ‘Always Trippin Always Stoned' right through to the final tune ‘Creatures' this is a mighty good listen, and should be caressed and cared for, like a small child. Top work Psychedelic chaps and chapess. Jolly good show.
